Sarah is urging the Prime Minister to heed people's concerns and reconsider her decision for President Trump's state visit.
After attending the debate on President Trump's state visit Monday 20th February, Sarah Olney commented:
"Nearly 2 million people have signed the petition calling for President Trump's state visit to be cancelled and I was pleased to attend the debate yesterday and hear people's concerns over the visit raised.
"While we would expect the President of the United States to come to Britain on an official visit, to be invited for a full state visit so soon after his election seems extremely premature and inappropriate, particularly considering his controversial views on immigrants and his attitude towards women.
"Barack Obama waited two and a half years and George W. Bush waited three years before they were invited on a state visit and Richard Nixon and George Bush Senior were never even given one so it seems strange that the UK Government has rushed into this so soon. "I am therefore urging the Prime Minister to heed people's concerns and reconsider her decision."
