Mortlake Brewery Public Exhibition

In recent weeks I have been approached by many residents asking me what is happening about the Mortlake Brewery; the 8.9 hectare site with a 200 metre Thames frontage being developed for residential, retail, hotel and leisure use.

I can now confirm there is to be a pre-planning consultation by the developers at the Brewery Sports Club in Lower Richmond Road (access via the main entrance to  the brewery) on the following dates:

Wednesday 8th March 4-8pm
Thursday 9th March 4-8pm
Saturday 11th March 9.30am-2pm
Friday 17th March 12noon-5pm
Saturday 18th March 10am-3pm

The redevelopment proposals will comprise a new community hub, a large housing development, a new secondary school, and the retention "and/or reprovision" of the existing playing fields. I feel it is important that the project maintains the character of Mortlake while enhancing the local area without having an impact on green spaces and traffic in nearby areas such as Barnes, Sheen, Kew and Richmond.

The local Liberal Democrats and I strongly encourage you to go and see the exhibition. I will be attending and would like to hear your views, so please do contact me either by post or email.
